Dear perspective support,
"In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps." These words found in Prov. 16:9 concisely communicate how I've seen the Lord work in the lives of Chad and Rachel Strong. It is my joy to introduce you to them and give you a snapshot of how I've seen that unfold.
I met the Strong family a few years ago and was so blessed to see their love for God and passion for loving Him. I was also taken by their love and devotion to each other. They have this beautiful family, with all these precious children and it didn't take long to see their commitment to them and how their example of Christ flourished, resulting in all these treasure box stories of grace.
Looking back at some of my first spiritual conversations with Rachel she was always wanting to learn more, to know how she could be more effective in her spiritual life. I would challenge her with what she was already doing as she had a great task in front of her with gifts of children that Chad and her were raising to bless God. I challenged her that raising her family might be the greatest single ministry the Lord ever gives them. After all the potential is limitless!
Their lives were being poured into by their Pastor through a weekly time of discipleship, and they were growing personally, while serving each other, their family and their church. They came to a place of abandonment for something more, and as they pursued their God ward desires, they have come to a place of joy and excitement in His calling to serve in full time missions in Nicaragua.
I believe they will bring a supporting church family a refreshing glimpse of their ministry in ways that will help you get to know them personally. You will have the privilege to know how to pray and be involved in the challenges and joys from these early days of raising support then through language study and then settling in and doing life and ministry with their family and teammates. Chad and Rachel are transparent and they connect with a reality that should give you a clear picture as they use their many gifts and abilities to serve God and others.
Being in ministry, all my adult life, I have the privilege, of those kinds of relationships. To have seen God work, through the years and situations, in the lives of His called ones is a humbling experience. As a supporter we have an investment of holding them up through encouragement, prayer and giving. I've seen lives develop, stretched and be changed by the power of God. Watching Him work through the willing hearts of those who answer His call, and being part of the equation, is such a picture of Romans 10:15..."How can they hear without someone preaching to them? It is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"
Because of His graciousness,
“Having worked side by side with Chad for the past 4 years, I will attest that he exemplifies a Christ like Spirit in everything he does, both work and family. We have had many conversations about faith, family, Christ and Christian living, and not once has he given me reason to suspect he lacks character or a true heart to worship God; and I consider myself a pretty good judge of one's personal attributes. A few character traits that immediately come to mind when I think of Chad is trustworthiness, honesty, integrity, and hardworking (among many others). His humble nature and teachable spirit make him a great candidate to want on your team for reaching the world for Christ!”
